If you thought that the ruling elite couldn't infiltrate the political landscape in Arizona, think again. Enter Justin Johnson, my Democrat challenger. The Johnson campaign front organization West Valley Neighborhood Alliance says the following about the candidate:
"Justin Johnson is a small business owner with a degree in Economics from Occidental College. He went to Sunnyslope grade school and Sunnyslope high school and is raising his family here now. He has walked our neighborhoods, talked to us about our concerns with employment, neighborhood security, and our children’s education."
What the Johnson campaign and WVNA won't tell the voters of District 10, however, is the following:
Howard's email leads voters to believe that Johnson only went to Sunnyslope HS. However, the candidate transferred to Thunderbird HS his sophomore year - and when THS wasn't good enough for him and his family, Johnson later enrolled at Mercerberg Academy, an exclusive boarding school back East (current tuition: $42,900 per year).
Johnson only attended Sunnyslope HS for one year.
After his $42,900 per year preparatory experience, Johnson chose to attend Occidental College in California (current tuition: $55,000 per year). Further, the candidate chose not to live in District 10 when he moved back to Arizona from California.
Johnson would not attend an Arizona university.
Johnson claims to have "lived in Arizona his whole life" and to have "registered to vote when he was 18." In fact, he didn't register to vote until November 2006 at the age of 25 and subsequently registered at five separate addresses from 2007 to 2010.
Curiously, however, Johnson NEVER VOTED IN ANY ARIZONA ELECTION until AFTER he decided to run for state senate in District 10. Johnson's publically available voter registration record since 2007 includes the following entries:
-July 2007: 1702 E. Bell, Phoenix
-September 2007: 2450 W. Glenrosa, Phoenix
-February 2009: 70 W. Marshall, Phoenix
-October 2009: 2701 W. Ruth, Phoenix
-February 2010: 3049 W. Corrine, Phoenix
Perhaps the question District 10 voters should be asking Justin Johnson is: "Why the 'shell game'"? The answer should be obvious: This carpetbagger is more interested in what the people of our community can do for him than the reverse.
Johnson has registered to vote often since his return to Arizona...but never actually votes.
