Linda Gray for Arizona Senate 2010
What others say about Linda Gray
"I was out of town when the Sunnyslope incident occurred. So this note is not timely but it is sincere. You handled the situation with aplomb and grace. You have taught me much about how to act with respect and dignity and this situation pioned once again what a lady you are. It seems in politics it is about denial and shifting blame; you declared yourself to be human, acknowledged an error and made every effort to rectify the mistake. You should be proud of yourself; I am.

Doreen Zannis, Director, Support Our Schools

"I am overwhelmed with thanks at the time you took with our family yesterday. The tour you gave us was one we will never forget. Just getting to stand in the places where government takes place was such an honor. The children loved it, and so did Lee and I. Also, arranging for the tour with Marian Shepherd was so kind of your office as well. She was remarkable and gave us such a memorable tour, I think we will forever remember that hour as one of the best of our lives. I felt like it went by in a flash. She was so knowledgeable and kind to us. We were mesmerized by the exhibits. You are so busy right now, and for you to take such a lot of time with us was humbling. We can't tell you how much we appreciate it. We will continue to pray for you as the election draws near. God has certainly had you in the Senate "for such a time as this," so I know that He is working now too. Thank you for all you do for our state and our country, not to mention for us personally. You are truly a wonderful person and we are blessed to know you."

Anne Wiggins

"It is our honor to endorse Linda Gray. NAILEM has worked with Senator Gray for many years at the Capital. Senator Linda Gray has been a leader in protecting children and supporting drug and gang free neighborhoods. She was the right choice to chair the Public Safety Committee and should be re-elected."

Donna Neill, Director, NAILEM

"Arizona needs more competent lawmakers committed to the good governance that will help the state through the worst crisis in modern years.

In District 10, we find Republican incumbent Sen. Linda Gray has what it takes to provide the high-caliber leadership the district and state need.

Democrat Justin Johnson, a general contractor, is making his political debut with a challenge to Gray… compared with Gray, his civic-life resume is thin.

Gray has had several high notes, most notably her impactful work on DUI laws that have helped make Arizona highways safer.

Arizona needs Gray's 'A' game, the legislative skills and tenacity that has served it well."

The Arizona Republic Editorial Board (Excerpt)

"We are lucky to have a proven leader in Senator Linda Gray. She’s not in this because she wants a career in politics, she serves because she cares about the district and the people who live here."

  1. S. Representative John Shaddegg (R - 3rd District)

"Over the years, I have supported Sen. Linda Gray because she works for all those issues she stated in the Phoenix Republic on Sep. 18. ("Education, law enforcement key") She is a strong supporter of education and law enforcement. But that is only part of her involvement in her community.

In the busy world of politics, time is valuable. Gray and her husband have made a number of calls to assist me in graffiti prevention and cover-up. She has continually communicated with me on different matters in our District 10 and encouraged me to come down to some of the lawmaking sessions.

With Gray's help, we have put a large dent in student drug and deviant behavior in Cactus Park. Gray is helping to put legislation together to stop the sale and distribution of Special "K," or Spice, which has the same effects as marijuana. No law currently prevents Spice from getting into the hands of those who seek it.

As a person who's aware of the challenges teachers face day to day, Gray works to make our educational environment a safe place to teach and learn.

Plain and simple, unlike opponent Justin Johnson's characterization of Gray as "part of the establishment that has gout us into this mess," he doesn't know the Gray I know. She is, and has been working hard for all those issue she states and then some.

George Donaldson, Arizona Republic, September 25, 2010

"I know we have some differences but we both respect the thoughts and intentions of one another. We both want the best for our Arizona citizens."

Kay Martin (D-Glendale)

Paula Aboud, D-Tucson, gushed about her admiration of fellow Sen. Linda Gray, a Glendale Republican.

"She has always been gracious to me."

Paula Aboud (D-Tucson)

"I really appreciate your commitment to work together on HB2668. Thanks for your support and helpful suggestions."

Matt Heinz (D-Tucson)

"Linda Gray is a dedicated public servant that listens to her constituents. Her consistent strong support for public safety and education is admirable. "

Thelda Williams, Phoenix City Council Member

"I am finishing an internship at the Goldwater Institute. I had the opportunity to sit in on a couple Senate committee meetings. Your principled, intelligent, and calm reasoning in support of both issues made an impression on me. You seem to be respected by your colleagues and committed to your causes. I wanted you to know that in a time when many students are disenchanted and disengaged from the political process, observing you in action has given me yet another reason to stay tuned. Thank you."

Veronica C.

"The words 'Thank You' are insufficient to express the gratitude that my wife and I feel for your tireless work on our behalf. SB1449 would never have become law if it were not for your diligence, guidance and support. You helped Debbie time after time, lifting her hopes and strengthening her belief that our legislative system could really be made to work, even for the 'little guy.' We will never forget what you did to help us and our family."
